To facilitate their identification in the event of their martyrdom, Gazan children write their names on their hands.

Have you ever imagined that what you fear most would be not being recognized if you were killed along with all your family members in a violent bombing during a devastating war?

This is the case of children displaced from their homes in Al-Shifa Medical Complex - the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip - who decided to write their names on their hands so that they would be easily identified if they were killed along with all their family members in light of the ongoing intense Israeli raids on Gaza.

Palestinian children took this step because many martyrs were not identified, especially those who were martyred in the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, which on Tuesday evening witnessed a horrific massacre in which about 500 Palestinians were martyred as a result of an Israeli raid, according to a tally by the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.

In Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Ahmed Abu Al-Saba (35 years old) writes his name and the names of his children and relatives on their hands.

Abu Al-Sabaa said, "We write our names on our hands and the names of our children on their hands to enable our bodies to be identified if the occupation planes bomb us."

He added that there are many martyrs, especially children, whose families are difficult to reach, noting that the occupation does not discriminate between anyone and bombs everywhere.

Hundreds of children competed in the hospital to register their names on their hands.

Thousands of Palestinians were displaced to Al-Shifa Hospital, west of Gaza City, due to Israel’s bombing of their homes.

The displaced fear that Israeli aircraft will bomb Al-Shifa Hospital, as they did Al-Baptist Hospital in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.

These people live in a difficult humanitarian reality and do not have the minimum necessities of life due to the war.

Since October 7, about 3,800 Palestinians have been martyred, and more than 12,000 have been injured in the ongoing Israeli bombing.
