Russia strikes Odesa again and Ukraine vows more attacks on Crimea

Russian forces bombed Odesa last night and announced that they had repulsed counter-attacks and killed 800 Ukrainian soldiers during the past 24 hours, while Ukraine continued its attacks on Crimea, vowing what it called a "season of explosions" in that region.

In the latest field development, Russian forces again bombed the Ukrainian coastal city of Odesa on Saturday night, killing one person. "Unfortunately, a civilian was killed as a result of the night terrorist attack of the Russians on Odessa," wrote the governor of the Odessa region, Oleg Kipper, at dawn today, Sunday, on Telegram.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed to respond to what he described as the Russian terrorist attack on Odesa.

In recent days, Russia has launched precise attacks on sites in the city of Odesa on the Black Sea.

Kyiv accused Moscow of specifically targeting port infrastructure to prevent any possible resumption of Ukrainian grain exports.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian forces announced that they carried out an attack yesterday on two weapons and oil depots belonging to the Russian army in Crimea.

The pro-Russian governor of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, confirmed the attack, which caused explosions at the warehouse.

Russian officials said that the bombing did not result in casualties and that all residents were evacuated from the areas adjacent to the warehouse.

Russian media broadcasted scenes that it said were of Ukrainian drones targeting infrastructure facilities in the Krasnogvardeisky district of Crimea.

For her part, the spokeswoman for the Southern Operations Command of the Ukrainian army, Natalia Homenyuk, said that the bombing of the Russian forces' supply lines will continue.

She indicated that her country had adhered to the warning it issued earlier that the season of explosions in Crimea had come, as she put it.

Regarding the course of the battles, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the elimination of about 800 Ukrainian soldiers during the past 24 hours in separate areas of the fighting fronts.

Ministry spokesman Igor Konachikov said that Russian forces repelled 14 Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk axis.

Konashkov added, "The Ukrainian forces continued their failed attempts to carry out offensive actions in the Donetsk, Krasny, Liman, south Donetsk, and Zaporizhia directions. Our warplanes, ground forces, missiles, and artillery neutralized 94 artillery units of the Ukrainian forces."

He said that the Russian forces intercepted 15 HIMARS missiles, 3 anti-radar missiles, and a British-made Strom Shadow cruise missile.

And the governor of the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv announced that two people were killed in the bombing of Russian forces that targeted several areas in the city during the past 24 hours.
