Watch: Israel releases video it says shows its soldiers and tanks inside Gaza

The Israeli army today Thursday released a video it says shows its soldiers and tanks during their ground incursion into the Gaza Strip.

The video shows tanks moving and firing inside the enclave, as well as Israeli soldiers moving alongside buildings destroyed by Israeli airstrikes.

The release of the video comes as the Israeli military's ground intervention in Gaza continues after weeks of aerial bombardment of cities in the besieged enclave.

The Palestinian Hamas movement had previously released a video it claimed showed its fighters emerging from tunnels and firing at Israeli tanks.

The Israeli army stated that "resistance cells in northern Gaza launched anti-tank missiles overnight, detonated explosive devices, and threw hand grenades at Israeli forces," adding that "dozens of terrorists" were killed in the battle.

Israel is waging a war on the enclave in response to the unprecedented attack carried out by the Palestinian Hamas movement on October 7th last year on Israeli towns and settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip.

At least 1,400 people have been killed in Israel since the start of the war, the majority of whom were civilians who died during the unprecedented Hamas attack since Israel's establishment in 1948, according to Israeli authorities.

The army also announced the deaths of 332 soldiers, some of whom were on the border with Lebanon in an attack by the Iran-backed Hezbollah, which is allied with Hamas.

In the Gaza Strip, the death toll from Israeli airstrikes has risen to 8,796, including 3,648 children, with more than 2,000 people still missing under the rubble, according to the Hamas government's Ministry of Health.
