Tanks Deployed on Hills in Southern Israel
As Israeli airstrikes continue to target areas in Gaza, footage has emerged showing Israeli tanks deployed on hills in southern Israel.
Israel called up 300,000 soldiers in response to the attack by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) from the Gaza Strip on multiple fronts. The main question at the time was whether Israel would launch a ground attack on the small coastal area along the Mediterranean Sea.
In scenes captured by The Associated Press, tanks and helicopters can be seen on a series of hills in southern Israel. Israeli warplanes continued to strike amid Gaza City, the stronghold of Hamas, continuously until early Tuesday, after the Israeli Prime Minister vowed revenge against the armed Islamic group, promising that "its echo will resonate for generations."
