Hezbollah bombed an Israeli soldier, killing him and injuring others.
Hezbollah in Lebanon attacked an Israeli army with missiles early on Sunday morning, killing one soldier and injuring several more.
Based on information from Israeli medical officials, "one of the injured people was killed in Shtola in the Western Galilee."
It was reported by a Hezbollah source that "we achieved confirmed casualties among an Israeli force in Shtoula."
"One person was killed and several others were wounded in gunfire from Lebanon," the Israeli army declared.
"At least 4 casualties in an anti-tank missile attack from Lebanon on an Israeli border village," the Israeli army had earlier revealed.
Moments later, the Israeli army said, “An Israeli border military site came under fire from Lebanon after the bombing of Shtoula.”
The Israeli army explained that an anti-tank missile was fired at a military barracks for its soldiers in Upper Galilee. He added, "Our forces responded with artillery shelling."
After the incident, the Israeli army declared that it would keep attacking southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army forbade mobility and declared that all areas within four kilometers of the Lebanese border would be closed.
Hezbollah said that it was responding to the martyrdom and injuries of journalists and civilians in southern Lebanon by attacking the Israeli army in Shtoula.
The party clarified that its fighters used guided missiles to hit an enemy army center in Shtoula, causing fatalities and injuries.
According to the statement, "Our fighters targeted with guided missiles a Merkava tank at the Raheb site, which led to its crew being killed and wounded."
Later, Hezbollah announced that it attacked the Israeli monk's site "with appropriate weapons in the context of our response to the attacks on our border villages."
Israeli media reported that security asked residents of the town of Metulla on the border with Lebanon to close the doors for fear of infiltration.
As for the Israeli military spokesman, he said that the State of Lebanon bears responsibility for the shooting from its territory.
The Israeli army said, “We are disrupting land navigation programming due to the development of the security situation on the border with Lebanon.”
The Israeli army pledged "to do whatever is necessary throughout the Middle East to protect Israel's security."
Hezbollah recently announced the martyrdom of several of its fighters, in a bombing launched by Israel on southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese-Israeli border has witnessed increasing tension since the Palestinian resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood a week ago, which cost Israel 1,300 deaths, including about 300 soldiers, in addition to large numbers of prisoners, according to Israeli figures.
For its part, Israel responded by bombing homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques in the Gaza Strip, which led to the death of more than 2,300 Palestinians, most of whom were women and children.
