Ukraine regains a new town and attacks Crimea, and Russia shoots down marches

The governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozjayev, confirmed in a tweet on his Telegram account that the situation is completely calm in his city, and said that the Ukrainian side will try with all its might to portray what happened as a victory in its favor.

Yesterday, Sunday, the Ukrainian news website Ukrainska Pravda quoted a Ukrainian intelligence source - whose identity was not revealed - as saying that an operation carried out by military intelligence in cooperation with the Ukrainian Navy is continuing in Crimea.

It is noteworthy that the city of Sevastopol is the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, and is the largest city in the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed to its territory in 2014.

For her part, Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hana Malyar announced on Monday that her country's forces had regained control of an area of two square kilometers near the city of Bakhmut, and more than 5 square kilometers on the southern front last week.

Yesterday evening, Sunday, Russia announced that it had shot down several Ukrainian drones in different regions, including the Crimean Peninsula, Moscow, and the cities of Belgorod and Voronezh, which are close to the border with Ukraine.

Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that it shot down 3 drones last Sunday night, in the airspace of southwest Crimea, and another over Belgorod, thus bringing the number of drones that Russian forces announced they shot down - yesterday, Sunday - to 13 drones, 9 of which were in Crimea.

However, the Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet announced any damage or casualties as a result of these attacks.

The ministry's statement noted that "the production workshops of the Kharkiv Armor Factory, where armored vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian Armed Forces are repaired and restored, were subjected to a missile attack."

The head of the Ukrainian military administration in Kharkiv, Oleg Sinigubov, had previously confirmed in a post on a Telegram platform that a facility in the city was bombed by 4 missiles, causing a fire to break out in the facility.

In another development in the Russian-Ukrainian war that has been raging for more than a year and a half, the Ukrainian army announced that it was able to control the town of Klychivka, which is located south of Bakhmut, and wrest it from the grip of Russian forces.

This announcement comes just two days after Ukrainian forces were able to control the nearby town of Andermievka, and made progress towards a third, also nearby town, the town of Kurdomivka.

Ukrainian army published a video showing the ferocity of the battles in the town of Andermievka, in which light weapons, mortar shells, and artillery were used.
