Russia attacks Lviv and Ukraine destroys a missile and drones



 Russia bombed 3 industrial warehouses in a drone attack on the city of Lviv, western Ukraine, early Tuesday, causing explosions, a huge fire, and the death of at least one person. While Ukraine spoke of the destruction of a ballistic missile and 27 Russian drones, Russia said that its forces... repelled 7 attacks in the direction of Donetsk, and the Ukrainian forces suffered losses of life and equipment.

Ukrainian Air Force said in a post on the Telegram application that the invading drones were Iranian-made Shahed drones and that its defenses confronted them.

Lviv Governor Maxim Kozytsky said firefighters were dealing with the blaze, and a 26-year-old man had been taken to hospital. City Mayor Andrei Sadovy confirmed that the body of a man was later found in a warehouse under the rubble.

Ukrainian Emergency Service published - via the Telegram application - a video clip showing a fire burning in industrial warehouses in Lviv, western Ukraine, targeted by Russian forces with marches last night.

The video clip shows a large fire burning inside the warehouses, while firefighting teams are trying to put it out.


The emergency service said that Russian drones attacked the city, causing a fire to break out in three warehouse buildings with an area of 9,450 square meters.


Other developments

In another development, the Ukrainian Air Force said - via the Telegram platform - that air defense systems destroyed an Iskander ballistic missile and 27 of a total of 30 drones launched by Russia on Ukrainian territory in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The same source added that Iranian-made Shahed drones were destroyed in the regions of southern, central, and western Ukraine, while the missile was launched towards Kryvyi Rih in the center of the country.

For its part, the Ukrainian army said that its forces fought 35 armed clashes with Russian forces on all battle fronts during the past few hours, indicating that its attack on the southern axis in Zaporizhzhia towards Melitopol is continuing and that the Russian forces are suffering severe losses.

He also confirmed that he confronted attempts by Russian forces to launch attacks on the Bakhmut axis, adding that about 70 Ukrainian towns were subjected to Russian artillery shelling during the past hours.

The Ukrainian army revealed that Russia has mobilized about 100,000 soldiers in the Crimean Peninsula since the beginning of this month to strengthen its defenses there.

The Ukrainian army announced the recovery of more than 5 square kilometers of territory on the southern axis of the counterattack. Also, it said that it took control of the town of Kulchevka, south of Bakhmut, in the east of the country. The commander of the Ukrainian ground forces said that the Ukrainian troops were able to penetrate the Russian lines near the destroyed city of Bakhmut, after recently recapturing the villages of Andreevka and Klychevka in the east of the country.

On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that Russian artillery targeted the positions of Ukrainian forces near Bakhmut, eastern Ukraine, with precise strikes.

A Russian military spokesman said that Russian forces repelled 7 attacks in the direction of Donetsk, and Kyiv's losses in the attacks amounted to 210 soldiers, tanks, and two artillery.


A television channel close to the Russian Ministry of Defense also published a video clip, which it said documents the moment Ukrainian fortifications were targeted with thermal shells, in one of the locations of the Northern Military District, it said. The video clip shows when the missile strikes were directed at what the ministry described as fortified Ukrainian targets.

The governor of the Russian Belorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced yesterday, Monday, that air defense systems shot down 3 air targets in the Shepekinsky region. Gladkov indicated that the attack did not result in any human losses, but he pointed out that one of the power lines was damaged during the interception of air targets.
