Turkey and Saudi Arabia sign several agreements, and Erdogan presents bin Salman with a tog car


 On Monday evening, Turkey and Saudi Arabia signed agreements in the fields of direct investment, defense industries, energy, defense, and communications.

The signing came after talks between the delegations of the two countries, headed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in Jeddah, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khaled bin Salman said - in a tweet today, Tuesday - that the Kingdom signed two contracts with the Turkish defense industries company "Baykar" to purchase drones "to raise the readiness of the armed forces and strengthen the kingdom's defense and manufacturing capabilities." The minister added that the two countries also signed a plan for defense cooperation.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed for cooperation in the field of encouraging direct investment, a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of communication between the Turkish Presidency Communications Department and the Saudi Ministry of Information, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of energy.

Yesterday, Jeddah hosted the Saudi-Turkish Business Forum, in the presence of officials from the two countries, and it witnessed the signing of 9 agreements between the two sides, and they discussed many fields, including energy, tourism, and infrastructure projects.

Turkish president said that relations with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries are developing, stressing that his government seeks to raise the level of trade exchange between the two sides, based on the improvement witnessed in diplomatic relations between them.

Erdogan met with the Saudi crown prince late yesterday and gave him a "Tog" car made locally in Turkey after their bilateral meeting and their presiding over the talks at the level of delegations at the Peace Palace in Jeddah.

Turkish president returned to the hotel where he was staying, in the tug car that bin Salman drove.

Erdogan had arrived in the Kingdom earlier yesterday at the start of a Gulf tour that also includes Qatar and the UAE, and he pinned great hopes on it to attract investments and financing.
