British Minister of Defense criticizes Ukraine and says that his country is not an "Amazon" store for arming it

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said yesterday, Wednesday, that his country is not an "Amazon store" for the weapons that Ukraine needs.
This came in response to a question about whether the allies failed to give Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a timeframe for NATO membership during the Lithuania summit, which would undermine the morale of Ukrainian forces on the front line.
"One light word of caution is: like it or not, people want to see gratitude," Wallace told British media on the sidelines of NATO summit.
He added, "Sometimes you try to urge countries to give up their stock. Yes, it is a noble war. Yes, we see that you are fighting it not only for yourselves but also for our freedoms."
Wallace said he told officials in Kyiv after receiving a list of weapons orders from them last year, "I'm not an Amazon store."
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was quick to dismiss any suggestion that London was disturbed by the intense pressure exerted by Zelensky during the NATO summit in Vilnius to obtain more weapons.
When Sunak was asked about his minister's remarks, he replied that the Ukrainian president "expressed his gratitude for what we have done on several occasions."
NATO summit was held in the Lithuanian capital Tuesday and Wednesday, with the participation of 31 leaders from the member states of the alliance.
And the leaders of the Group of Seven countries pledged yesterday - during NATO summit - to provide "long-term" military support to Ukraine.
