When will Lionel Messi end his football career? Argentine star responds

Argentine star Lionel Messi has confirmed his desire to continue playing football, citing his ability to compete and physical fitness as determining factors for his retirement decision.

The 36-year-old player won the 2023 Ballon d'Or for the best male football player, presented by the French magazine "France Football" during a ceremony held in Paris yesterday, Monday.

After winning the award for the eighth time in his career, Messi said, "I am very happy to be at Inter Miami Club, and I find myself in the situation I am in. I am enjoying some different moments in life with my family," according to "Euro Sport."

The World Cup Qatar winner added, "Being a world champion was a wonderful thing, so I feel extreme tranquility now with this award, after having had this professional journey and enjoying the game."

Regarding his future, Messi said, "I don't know how long I will continue to do that (playing), but I tend to enjoy my future. I have said that a lot lately. I want to enjoy it. I don't know how long (I will continue to play), but as long as I am physically fit and able to compete, I will continue to do so."

He continued, "I cannot put a number on anything because football changes a lot from day to day. I hope it will be for a long time (continuing to play) because that's what I know and love to do, so I want to continue."

Currently, Lionel Messi is spending his vacation after the end of the Inter Miami Club season in the American League.
