Biden offers comfort to Ukraine and urges Republicans to put an end to "games"

Despite the government shutdown, US President Joe Biden urged Republicans to put an end to their games and reaffirmed that his nation would continue to help Ukraine.

Biden emphasized in his address that Washington will not desert the Ukrainian people after agreeing to avoid a government shutdown and the lack of an aid condition to Ukraine from the deal.

He claimed that "I and millions of Americans are bored because of Republican manipulation," anticipating that the Republicans would uphold the understanding they struck in May.

He urged members of Congress who he identified as his Republican buddies to move swiftly to enact the government shutdown law.

Biden's talk about aid coincided with some of Ukraine's neighboring countries beginning to gradually withdraw from playing Kyiv's permanent supporter role.

The elections in Slovakia led to the candidate's victory over the left-wing Social Democracy Party, which called for good relations with Russia and stopped military aid to Kyiv.

Robert Fico's victory was preceded by the Polish Prime Minister's announcement that his country would stop supporting Ukraine militarily, in favor of strengthening its defense power.

US federal government went into lockdown; Due to a failure to agree on the government’s budget for the new fiscal year, which begins in October 2023.

This comes amid fears of its impact on state institutions and citizens, especially after the failure of Democratic and Republican legislators to pass temporary funding projects that allow the government to work until a budget is agreed upon.
