According to the Jerusalem Post, 750 Israelis may be missing.

Israeli media reported that about 750 Israelis are currently missing since the start of the military attacks launched by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement.

Without providing any other information, the Jerusalem Post daily said Sunday morning that 750 Israelis are missing.

According to the Yedioth Ahronoth daily, gunfire was heard in the Zikim neighborhood, south of Ashkelon, and it was further noted that Zikim is one of the six active fighting areas in the Gaza Strip since yesterday.

Israeli Army Radio, on the other hand, reported that there was a suspicion that a drone had infiltrated from the Gaza Strip towards the settlement of Netivot and added that warning sirens had been activated on account of the possibility. According to the Israeli station, inhabitants of the Eshkol settlement claimed that armed Palestinians had once more broken into the community even though Israeli army units were en route.

This comes amid escalating tension in the Gaza Strip, as the Al-Qassam Brigades announced, at dawn on Saturday, the start of a military operation called the Al-Aqsa Flood from Gaza, with a first strike that targeted enemy sites, airports, and military fortifications.

In response, the Israeli army announced the launch of Operation Iron Swords against Hamas in Gaza, saying in a statement that its planes had begun launching raids in several areas of the Strip on targets affiliated with Hamas.

The toll of attacks carried out by Palestinian factions on Israeli towns and cities rose on Saturday to 350 dead and 1,864 wounded, according to the official Broadcasting Corporation.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that 256 Palestinians, including 20 children, were killed and 1,788 were injured with various injuries, including 121 children, as a result of the Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip.
