6 Killed in Russian Rocket Strike on Ukrainian Warehouse
6 people were killed and 14 others injured in a Russian rocket strike on Saturday that hit a warehouse of a Ukrainian postal company in the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine, according to local officials.
President Volodymyr Zelensky shared a video on social media showing what appeared to be a severely damaged warehouse surrounded by rubble and a container bearing the logo of the Ukrainian postal service "Nova Poshta."
Governor of the Kharkiv region, Oleh Syniuhov, stated, "The six fatalities and the 14 injured from the occupiers' attack are all employees of the company who were inside the Nova Poshta station." He added that "the victims, aged between 19 and 42, sustained shrapnel and blast injuries."
He further noted that among the 14 receiving treatment in the hospital, seven are in critical condition, highlighting that "doctors are fighting to save their lives." According to the regional prosecutor's office, Russian forces in the Russian Belgorod area north of Kharkiv launched "S-300" missiles, two of which struck the warehouse.
The spokesperson for the regional prosecutor's office, Dmytro Shupenko, told the Ukrainian government's Suspilne radio that work is ongoing at the site to "determine the exact number of the injured and the dead."
