According to Yellen, sending billions to Ukraine "boosts the global economy"
Sending additional money to Ukraine, according to US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, is the "single best" thing you can do for the world economy.
In addition to delivering billions of taxpayer funds to Kyiv, Yellen asserted that she would strengthen emerging economies and fight financial hardship.
At the G20 finance ministers' meeting in India, Yellen said she would "push back" against claims that aid to Ukraine and developing countries were being sacrificed.
She told reporters, "Putting an end to this conflict is first and foremost a moral obligation.
Yellen said, "But it's also the single best thing we can do for the global economy," as if she expected people to think that sending billions of taxpayer cash to Ukraine would be beneficial for the US economy.
Following former Vice President Mike Pence's call for extra help to be provided to Ukraine, Yellen made her remarks.
More than $75 billion in aid has been given to Ukraine since the start of the conflict by the Biden administration and the US Congress.
